Job Description

POSITION: Director Business Development and Organizational Sales
REPORTS TO: Senior Vice President Learning
ACHE is a hybrid work environment requiring 2 days per week in our Chicago loop office and as such only Chicago area based candidates will be considered.
PURPOSE
The purpose of this job is to serve our members customers and co-workers.
SUMMARY
ACHE Learn provides leadership development and academic publishing solutions for healthcare and higher education. Within the portfolio ACHE provides leadership development training for healthcare employers that range from customized educational offerings group packages and on-demand learning that can be licensed. Academic publishing solutions for higher education are centered on a content library inclusive of textbooks and learning resources for healthcare management and related programs.
The Director of Business Development and Organizational Sales is responsible for developing and activating organizational sales for all of the ACHE Learn portfolio for healthcare and higher education. The business development director will own the sales cycle and drive to achieve organizational sales goals and meet revenue targets to support ACHE Learn.
ACHE is a hybrid work environment requiring 2 days per week in our Chicago loop office.
JOB FUNCTIONS
  1. General Sales Responsibilities 80% of time
    1. Drive complex and consultative sales involving multiple product groups.
    2. Drive business development activities including opportunistic strategies lead generation via client-base prospecting opportunity qualification needs assessments deal management competitive positioning product demonstrations proposal preparation and delivery and contract development.
    3. Build and manage a robust pipeline of qualified prospects leveraging CRM tools to ensure consistent tracking and communication.
    4. Initiate and manage client relationships throughout the sales cycle including discovery meetings presentations and contract negotiations.
    5. Stay current on competitor activity industry trends and client needs; use insights to refine ACHE Learn positioning and sales process.
    6. Identify organize and focus on the resources required to secure customer agreements.
    7. Sell ACHE Leadership Development solutions to key decision makers within healthcare organizations. (60% of sales responsibilities.)
    8. Sell ACHE Academic Publishing solutions to key decision makers within higher education. (40% of sales responsibilities.)
    9. Provide regular updates to leadership on sales activity pipeline status and market intelligence.
    10. Provide post-proposal issues resolutions.
    11. Achieve goals and revenue targets.
    12. Identify opportunities for new product development based on customer input and market need.
    13. Work closely with other departments and find opportunities to cross sell ACHE products programs and services.
  2. Metrics 20% of time
    1. Review key engagement and revenue metrics to optimize future campaigns.
    2. Analyze and report on performance including insights and recommendations for improving results
    3. Support the creation of automated reports for stakeholders with an emphasis on ROI attribution and actionable metrics
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • Self-starter with demonstrated success in managing complex sales accounts.
  • Ability to understand program integration depth and breadth for cross selling products and services.
  • Must have demonstrated success selling business services or products to decision makers in the healthcare space or health administration related higher education with an ability to close deals/contracts.
  • Excellent integration skills able to envision steps in a team process and flawlessly execute in coordination with others.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced results-driven environment.
  • Excellent communicator with strong verbal written and presentation skills.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Must have regular and predictable attendance.
  • Ability to travel to client locations.

COMPENSATION
This is an exempt/salaried role paid on a bi-weekly basis. We anticipate filling this position in a salary range of $120000-$150000 annually.
This salary range represents ACHEs good faith estimate of the possible compensation offer for this role at the time of posting. The compensation offered will take the following into consideration: education relevant experience certifications organizational budget and market estimates for the role.
