The Retirement Systems Division is hiringDisability Benefits Analystsin the Disability Processing section. Applicants with claims processing experience --such as disability insurance unemployment child support payments and bank loans -- are highly desired and encouraged to apply! This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) withState Benefits including health insurance paid vacation paid sick time paid holidays as well as retirement.
About Us
TheRetirement Systems Divisionadministers the statutory retirement and fringe benefit plans as authorized by the General Assembly of North Carolina. These include the following six major retirement plans: Teachers and State Employees Retirement System the Legislative Retirement System the Local Governmental Employees Retirement System the Consolidated Judicial Retirement System the Optional Retirement Program and Firemens and Rescue Workers Pension Fund.
TheDisability Benefits Analystsis located in the Benefits Processing Section (Disability/Refunds) of the Retirement Division. This position is responsible for processing claims and payment of claims within the disability benefits programs for the States public pension plans. These programs include short-term disability extended short-term disability preliminary long term disability extended short-term disability and long-term disability.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesQualified applicants must possess and application must clearly reflect work experience that demonstrates the following:
Management Preferences
Experience processing disability benefits.
High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of related administrative experience; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
