Pay: $18 - $20 per hour

Hours: 7:00am - 3:30pm

Days: Monday - Friday

What is the job: As a Warehouse Associate with Avient you are responsible for a variety of warehouse duties including packing pulling/checking customer orders replenishment shipping and receiving materials and material handling and completing all required paperwork in accordance to company policies and procedures.

Essential Functions

  • Unloads goods and material received enters appropriate information into system labels and locates material.
  • Separates customer orders. Pulls and stages orders. Repacks material if required to meet customer specifications. As required makes boxes packs labels and locates materials.
  • Ensures all products are properly labeled.
  • May perform functions/transactions in designated system to receive or ship material.
  • Participates in cycle counting. Enters and verifies information. Researches and makes adjustments as necessary.
  • Reviews preventative maintenance check sheets for forklifts. Ensures good working order of machines.
  • Follows and complies with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintains departmental housekeeping standards.
  • May be required to handle the accumulation disposal and transportation of hazardous waste. If required to do so must participate in prerequisite training in order to meet RCRA waste management requirements.
  • Drives fork lifts locomotives track-mobiles or other heavy duty material movers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma General Education Diploma (GED) or equivalent experience
  • 1 year of related manufacturing/warehouse experience preferred.
  • Fork Lift Operating experience preferred.
  • Must have mathematical skills to add subtract multiply and divide. Must have the ability to useconversions work with different units such as weight volume density distance etc.

Additional Qualifications

  • Must be able to read/comprehend written and oral instructions in English; read and comprehend safety rules operating and maintenance instructions problem solving techniques and conflict conflict resolution skills.
  • Must be able to write legibly to keep records and to correspond.
  • Must have strong mathematical skill to add subtract multiply and divide and the ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement volume and distance.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate one-on-one and in small group situations.
  • Requires matching proficiency including the ability to color match.
  • Must have ability to reason and address problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must have manual dexterity sufficient to use a wide variety of standard lab equipment including a scale ovens viscometers and the ability to operate standard office equipment such as a computer a calculator telephone fax and photocopier.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly (8 to 12hrs per shift) required to:

  • stand walk or sit
  • stoop kneel crouch crawl and talk or hear
  • use hands to finger
  • handle or feel objects tools or controls
  • occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
  • specific vision abilities required include:
    o close vision
    o distance vision
    o color vision
    o peripheral vision
    o depth perception
    o ability to adjust focus

Work Environment

The employee is occasionally exposed to:

  • moving mechanical parts
  • fumes or airborne particles
  • vibration
  • noise level in the work environment ranges from normal office noise levels to loud noise

Employees are required to wear mandatory PPE (8 to 12hrs per shift) which include:

  • long sleeve uniform shirts
  • hearing protection
  • steel toe shoes/boots
  • safety glasses
  • specific gloves when performing specific tasks
  • face shield if required by work area

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; and stoop kneel crouch or crawl and use foot/feet to operate machine. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds and frequently move more than 250 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision distance vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area such as safety glasses and shoes dust mask hard hat respirator face shield hearing protection chemical suit gloves aprons etc. Work is inside and the typical noise level is loud. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to high precarious places; outside weather conditions; and explosives. Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
