Job Description

Job Description Summary
The Arts and Culture Editor is responsible for overseeing the Arts and Culture section which includes coverage of performing and visual arts campus and widespread culture music food and other things befitting the section. This role involves curating sourcing editing and publishing arts and culture-related content that resonates with the student body. The editor will work closely with other section editors and collaborate with different sections of the paper if needed.

Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities: Content Management: Plan assign and edit arts and culture-related articles reviews interviews and features. Write a minimum of 1 story per week. Collaboration: Work closely with section editors to coordinate content and share resources. Collaborate with the digital team to ensure appealing layouts for the section. Attend weekly staff and editorial board meetings. Manage arts & culture writers. Trend Monitoring & Creative Pitching: Stay updated on current trends both locally and globally. Curate playlists or recommend new music that appeals to the student audience. Attend and cover local music events concerts and festivals plays shows etc.

Required Qualifications
Background in journalism. Ability to maintain professionalism and uphold ethical reporting standards.
