Job Description
Applications Engineer
Location: SalineMI Full-Time
About the Role
As an Applications Engineer at MMI youll be the critical link between client needs and engineered solutions. This role blends technical expertise with creative problem-solving and project leadership-from concept through launch and continuous improvement. Youll collaborate with cross-functional teams and world-class clients to develop advanced solutions in materials design and manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and deliver engineering solutions focused on weight & cost reduction performance and functionality.
Lead concept development part design material and mold selection process engineering and quality planning.
Interface directly with clients to gather requirements and present viable technical solutions.
Manage project milestones including kick-off DFMEA prototype builds and design reviews.
Prepare and control original engineering drawings and documentation.
Lead engineering change processes and implement product improvements.
Support project quotes timing and cost estimations including tooling and product changes.
Participate in special engineering projects and support production quality goals.
Your Qualifications
BS in Mechanical Engineering Polymer Engineering or equivalent hands-on product design experience.
3 years experience in plastic injection molding tool design or manufacturing of molded components.
Strong background in product design program management and engineering analysis (FEA MFA GD&T).
Deep understanding of design and mold standards part quality and manufacturing requirements.
Exceptional problem-solving project leadership and communication skills.
Preferred: Experience with OEM or transplant PLM processes.
