- Work with regional neighbours to help strengthen health systems and tackle diseases in the Pacific.
- Travel to Solomon Islands and/or Vanuatu 34 times per year (approx. 812 weeks annually).

Were seeking an experienced Epidemiologist / Project Manager to support the delivery of the DFAT-funded Field Epidemiology in Action (FEiA) program. In this role you will collaborate with Ministry of Health colleagues to co-design deliver and support field epidemiology training programs that empower health professionals and strengthen disease surveillance and response systems.
You will play a key part in ensuring technical excellence mentoring emerging leaders and help foster sustainable training systems in resource-limited settings.
What youll do:
- Provide technical and coordination support for Field Epidemiology Training Programs (FETPs) in the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu.
- Co-design and co-deliver culturally relevant training materials with national counterparts.
- Mentor and support national faculty trainees (FETP fellows) and alumni throughout their learning.
- Contribute to FETP curriculum development and professional development opportunities for FETP alumni.
- Provide support to national counterparts in the organisation of in-country training workshops including logistics and planning.
- Support development and delivery of evaluations program reports and planning documentation.
What youll bring
- Knowledge and field experience in infectious disease epidemiology.
- Experience designing and delivering training programs for adult learners.
- Strong cross-cultural communication skills with demonstrated experience working in low-resource settings.
- Experience building and maintaining respectful relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to mentor and guide others without taking over providing empowering support.
What might be challenging:
- This role involves technical and programmatic support you will not be doing the work for others but empower and guide local colleagues to build their capabilities.
- Requires flexibility and the ability to work within different cultural and logistical contexts.
This fixed term position is full time until the end of June 2027 at a HEW7 Higher Education Level.
