Job Description
Responsible for supervising and managing the day-to-day operations and maintenance of building utility systems. Manages all aspects of operation maintenance and repair of buildings and structures and related mechanical and electrical equipment at the main hospital as well as at satellite buildings. Supervises all maintenance crafts including Electricians Electronics Technicians HVAC System Mechanics Locksmith Maintenance Mechanics Plumbers and support contractors. Serves as a working supervisor who possesses a sound knowledge of the mechanical and electrical systems at the main hospital building and satellite buildings.
Education
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Licensure/Certification
Hold one or more trade licenses as approved by the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR) required.
Experience
Minimum of ten (10) years Hospital commercial or industrial facility operations required.
Minimum of five (5) years Healthcare maintenance experience as an electrician plumber mechanic or HVAC mechanic required.
Competencies Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Must have excellent leadership and organizational skills.
- Must be able to read blueprints and other technical documentation.
- Must demonstrate good troubleshooting and analytical skills on a wide variety of building utility systems including but not limited to: HVAC systems emergency diesel generators pneumatic tube systems high pressure steam (100 psi) boilers security alarm and camera systems door hardware building automation systems and fire alarm systems.
- Basic computer keyboard skills necessary for sending and receiving e-mails and entering work status updates for assigned work orders.
- Must be able to climb ladders.

- Problem solving / Thinking Skills: Must demonstrate excellent troubleshooting skills demonstrate good judgement and work well independently.
