Concrete Finisher

Required Education: High School diploma or GED AND;

• 24 months experience in concrete finishing.

Skills:

• Able to communicate verbally and in writing
• Use tools or equipment with expertise
• Ability to read and interpret written or printed materials including simple blueprints
• Perform simple recordkeeping requiring logging or filing
• Perform addition subtraction multiplication and division

Certifications:

• Valid Drivers License

Department Preferences:

• Valid Class B Commercial Oklahoma Drivers License

Working Conditions:

• Physical:Climbing ladders. Frequent and repeated bending stooping and kneeling. Frequent lifting and carrying loads in excess of 50 lbs. Repetitive wrist and arm movement.

• Environmental:Performs work requiring the use of ladders and scaffolding. Regular exposure to odors and noise. Regular exposure to dust and other airborne particles. Regular exposure to safety hazards. May be designated as an essential position during emergency closures. May be required to remain on campus overnight during weather or other emergencies.

Performs all aspects of concrete installation including base and grade preparation setting forms mixing pouring and finishing by hand or machine troweling.

Duties:

• Reads blueprints for job requirements and prepares surfaces for the pouring of concrete including grade preparation and construction of forms.
• Mixes pours and finishes concrete installation such as floors ramps curbs gutters pads benches slabs sidewalks and bumper blocks.
• Performs general duties such as asphalt installation roof installation and maintenance and heavy equipment operation and maintenance as needed.
• Uses established safety practices to protect health and safety of personnel and property.
• Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
