Job Description
Position Purpose:
Provide diagnostic testing services for patients as ordered by the physician/optometrist. This position plays an integral role in the care and management of our patients.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic and surgical testing as ordered by the doctor.
- Maintain ophthalmic instruments or equipment.
- Prepare surgical charts for surgeon review of pre-operative testing.
- Contact/Obtain patient records from other offices as needed.

Minimum Job Requirements (Education Experience Skills):
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous customer service experience required.
- Previous ophthalmology or optometric office assistant experience is preferred.
- Previous diagnostic and ophthalmic testing equipment experience preferred.
- Previous experience using EHR (electronic health records) is preferred.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrate ability of computer applications.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with the staff and public.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work with shifting priorities.
- Demonstrates a sincere interest in listening to and responding to patient concerns and solving their issue in a timely manner.
Physical Demands:
This position requires incumbent to sit at desk and/or stand for long hours during regularly scheduled work hours. This job may include but are not limited to sitting reaching stooping crouching kneeling climbing twisting hearing and repetitive motions. The ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Travel is required to satellite office.
Working Conditions and Environment:
Incumbent works in a temperature controlled medical office environment.
Pay:
The starting range for this position is $20.50 - $23.80. depending on skills experience and qualifications as well as market considerations. (Posting updated on 01.02.2025)
