RIOS is an international design collective. We are actively in pursuit of wonder within the design of the built environment. We believe design is an act of optimism through which invention and ideas change the world. We practice interconnected design across architecture placemaking and landscape architecture to define design as a continuum.
We follow a process that begins with attunement where program and context shape strong conceptual thinking to establish a holistically informed big idea through which we develop form confirm function and define experience as the basis on which to explore ecology material and tectonic expression. We have an immediate opening for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Architect who brings both strong design sensibility and advanced technical execution. The ideal candidate will play a key role in transforming design concepts into fully realized technically sound buildings ensuring design integrity through all phases of project development and delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical development of design concepts from schematic design through construction documentation permitting and construction administration.
- Collaborate closely with design principals consultants and clients to ensure project goals and timelines are met.
- Assist with the management of junior team members.
- Prepare and manage construction document sets detailing code compliance and quality assurance.
- Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior team members.
- Review and resolve complex building systems and technical challenges.
- Communication coordination and management of consultants contractors clients regulatory agencies and approving bodies to meet overall project objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
- 10 years of relevant professional experience in architecture.
- Registered architect in Texas.
- Demonstrated excellence in both design and technical development across diverse project types.
- Excellent ability in Revit and other relevant industry software. Cursory knowledge of Rhino preferred.
- Thorough understanding and experience working in BIM. The ideal candidate will have experience working with a Rhino to Revit workflow.
- Solid knowledge of zoning/building codes materials and construction methodologies.
- Excellent communication coordination and leadership skills.
- A keen attention to detail and eye for accuracy.
- Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to take initiative in response to direction from directors and partners.
