Introduction
We at the Potomac Center/SETT facility provide qualityperson-centered supports to adults with intellectual disabilities at our campusin Hagerstown Maryland. Our aim is to partner with the community to help our residentsachieve their goals.
The Potomac Center is a 62-bed licensed Intermediate CareFacility (ICF). This program focuses on using therapeutic interventions toempower residents as they learn the skills they need to successfully return tocommunity living.
The Secure Evaluation and Therapeutic Treatment (SETT)Program located within the Potomac Center campus is a 32-bed licensedForensic Residential Center that provides services to individuals withintellectual disabilities and court involvement within a safe and secureenvironment. The program provides assistance as they resolve their courtinvolvement and work toward transitioning to a less secured environment. TheSETT utilizes active treatment as well as providing evaluation assessment andcompetency attainment education.

Main Purpose of Job
This position shall discharge LPN duties of an intermediate nature including continuing alertness to individuals health status in compliance with sound nursing practices and judgment and applicable center policies and procedures. This position shall likewise monitor associates compliance with homes operating procedures and assess associates performance in terms of quality and quantity of services in areas such as:
- Adherence to applicable guidelines;
- Conformance with instructions;
- Demeanor and rapport with individuals;
- Following program and data collection requirements including notes and reports.
This position will bring any problems or concerns to the Home Manager and/or RNs timely attention. Further under general auspices of RNs this position shall strictly adhere to pertinent medical protocols including RN/Physician alerts or reports; medications; assessments; evidence of injury or symptoms of illness; and written entries in appropriate documents in a timely and accurate manner. And finally this position will discharge all duties and conduct oneself at all times per all relevant Regulations Standards Policies and Procedures including: Departments of Budget and Management and Mental Health and Hygiene; Title 17 CODE OF MARYLAND REGULATIONS; MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING; Office of Health Quality; ICF-MR; Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services; The Council on Quality and Leadership in Supports for People with Disabilities; and Potomac Center.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:Determined bythe Maryland Board of Nursing under the licensing requirements for PracticalNurses.
Experience: None.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The desired candidate should possess the following:
- Experience performing nursing procedures such as administering prescribed medications monitoring patients vital signs obtaining specimens for laboratory testing and assisting in physical examinations etc
- Experience working with intellectually disabled and/or forensic populations
LICENSES REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
1. Candidates for positions in thisclassification must possess a current license as a Practical Nurse from theMaryland Board of Nursing.
2. Employees in this classificationmay be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicleoperators license valid in the State of Maryland.
3. Employees in this classificationmay be required to successfully complete and maintain current certification ofcardiopulmonary resuscitation training.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

2. Employees in this classificationare subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of MarylandRegulations 17.04.09 Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.
