Junior Merchandise Planner (m/f/d) for ABOUT YOU’s Online Outlet, possible as part-time position

We are looking for a (Junior) Merchandise Planner (m/f/d) who is motivated to support the growth of the ABOUT YOU Outlet an online shopping club with a dedicated app and website. Every day new deals go live lasting for seven days. During that time customers can shop from a discounted selection of products. 

The Outlet team consists of three core functions: 1) Tech & Product 2) Marketing & CRM and 3) Business Development & Supply Side. We are a young and international team who work together in a modern office in the heart of Hamburgs city center. As our (Junior) Merchandise Planner (m/w/d) you are a key enabler in the team by providing analytical insights to make decisions which improve our daily deals for the customer. You support the management of stock and pricing and thereby take actions that directly impact the financial performance and success of the ABOUT YOU Outlet. This role offers you the opportunity to experience first-hand the fast-paced environment of fashion e-commerce and tech in an international team. 

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will encompass a mix of analytical and conceptual tasks all centered around data-driven insights to improve our assortment and pricing operations this includes: 

• Taking ownership of pricing topics and steering assortment according to a product lifecycle to ensure alignment with overarching business goals
• Designing and planning a full period of attractive deals for our customers 
• Managing deals end-to-end to ensure an accurate setup and flawless execution across our shops
• Overseeing stock intakes and replenishments into the business as well as providing insights on future deliveries
• Delivering in-depth analyses to optimize assortment and support strategic decision-making.
• Managing projects including conceptualisation business cases project setup and steering as well as its implementation with cross-functional stakeholders

You will be expected to take full ownership for the tasks you work on. While you will work independently your team members will always be there to support you. As the Outlet is a relatively new endeavor you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of topics and get to know the ins and outs of running and scaling an e-commerce shop first-hand.

Requirements

• Strong academic background in Business Administration Economics or a related quantitative field
• 1-2 years of professional experience in a comparable position (includes internships working student positions dual study programs)
• Very good English skills
• SQL skills is a plus
• Strong interest in fashion brands consumer trends and customer behavior 
• Highly structured proactive and self-motivated approach to work
• Analytical thinking a passion for working with numbers and the ability to deliver thoughtful solutions based on data analyses
• Finally you should be curious to learn about new topics with a strong intrinsic motivation to work hands on in a fast-moving scale-up environment
