Job Description

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Geotechnical Engineer II to join our well established and growing Environmental Remediation practice in New England.  As a key member of our remediation group candidate will be working on rewarding projects throughout New England and the United States within a diverse culture and having access to exceptional training and career development opportunities.

The job responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to:

  • Serves as project engineer on mid- to large size projects.
  • Provides geotechnical expertise for studies and design efforts.
  • Provides oversight and/or direction for geotechnical field investigations.
  • Develops complex technical solutions for clients.
  • Depending on level of experience performs quality control reviews of work developed by others.
  • Participates in development of technical proposals.
  • Develops technical skills in the area of geotechnical regulatory planning design and construction phase projects.
  • Coordinate with diverse project teams.
  • Depending on level of experience may serve as a project manager and attend client meetings.
  • Work with Senior Leaders to grow the regional Geotechnical practice.

Qualifications :

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS in Geotechnical Civil Marine or Environmental Engineering or related field 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Valid U.S Drivers License and as a condition of employment must pass AECOMs Motor Vehicle Records Review
  • Ability to travel to client sites and regulatory agencies
  • Due to the nature of work U.S. Citizenship is required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters Degree in Geotechnical Civil Marine or Environmental Engineering
  • 3 years of related project experience in Civil Geotechnical Marine or Environmental Remediation Engineering design or construction projects.
  • PE or ability to obtain PE within 1 year
  • Progressive engineering and project management experience.
  • Experience with Civil and/or Geotechnical Design Software
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training certification.
  • Experience and confidence to work independently to produce high quality deliverables on time and on budget.
