Job Description

Join our dedicated team at Endeavor Health Services as a FACT (Forensic Assertive Community Treatment) Vocational Specialist where you will play a pivotal role in empowering individuals with forensic backgrounds to achieve their employment goals. In this rewarding position you will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive support helping clients navigate the challenges of re-entering the workforce and fostering their journey towards personal and professional growth.

This role is designed to provide vocational assessment job readiness training employment support and individualized vocational counseling to the people we serve. The Vocational Specialist will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care and assist individuals in achieving their employment and career goals. Travel within the community is required to conduct home visits attend meetings collaborate with local service providers and ensure individuals receive the necessary care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments with individuals to identify their vocational skills interests and capabilities as well as identify strengths barriers and areas for development that impact employability.
  • Develop specialized employment plans that align with the individuals personal vocational and behavioral health goals.
  • Teach essential workplace behaviors time management and problem-solving techniques.
  • Offer workshops on job retention conflict resolution and maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
  • Assist individuals in locating job opportunities and provide support through the application and interview process by providing resume writing job search techniques interview preparation and workplace communication skills.
  • Advocate for the people we serve to employers addressing any concerns regarding workplace accommodations and other needs related to behavioral health.
  • Offer post-placement follow-up to ensure the individuals job success and retention and monitor job performance to address any barriers or challenges encountered in the workplace.
  • Provide ongoing vocational counseling to support the individuals career advancement and stability.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and provide input on individuals progress.
  • Work in collaboration with community organizations training programs and local employers to enhance vocational opportunities for the people we serve.
  • Maintain accurate records of interactions employment assessments and progress.
  • Document and report on vocational outcomes in compliance with agency policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Travel within the community is required to meet with the people we serve employers and other relevant community organizations.
  • The role may require occasional travel to local training programs workshops and employer sites to facilitate job placements and support individuals in their employment journey.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors/Undergraduate degree in Behavioral Health Human Services Vocational Rehabilitation or a related field. (Preferred)
  • Certification in Vocational Rehabilitation or Employment Specialist training (preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in vocational counseling rehabilitation or related behavioral health services.
  • A valid New York State Drivers License and access to a motor vehicle is required to make community/employment site/home visits.
