Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Accounting Operations Specialist Team Leader to join our finance operations team. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate financial transactions process compliance and operational efficiency within our accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting operations and proven experience managing mid-sized teams. You will be responsible for overseeing daily accounting processes and leading a team of 1015 professionals to support Maersks financial integrity and business goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of 1015 accounting professionals across various finance functions.
• Provide coaching performance feedback and career development support to team members.
• Ensure timely achievement of operational KPIs and service-level agreements (SLAs).
• Supervise daily accounting tasks including general ledger accounts payable and accounts receivable processes ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Monitor transactional processes for timely execution and identify improvement areas.
• Perform cost accounting activities such as tracking of direct and indirect costs variance analysis (actual vs. budget) and profitability reporting.
• Partner with finance teams to prepare and monitor annual budgets forecasts and financial plans.
• Oversee accurate and timely billing and invoicing operations.
• Resolve billing issues and drive improvements in billing accuracy and turnaround times.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls global accounting standards (e.g. IFRS GAAP) and regulatory requirements.
• Support internal and external audit processes through documentation and analysis.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders including procurement commercial and operational teams to resolve discrepancies and align financial activities with business needs.
• Contribute to ongoing finance transformation and automation initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelors or masters degree in accounting Finance or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as CPA CMA or equivalent are highly preferred.
• 610 years of experience in accounting operations with 23 years in a team leadership role managing teams of 1015 members.
• Solid understanding of cost accounting budget management and financial performance metrics.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulatory standards (e.g. IFRS GAAP).
• Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP Oracle or similar financial platforms.
• Excellent analytical skills with a detail-oriented and problem-solving mindset.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and geographies.
• Demonstrated ability to lead in a fast-paced dynamic business environment.
