We are seeking an organized and detailed-oriented individual to join our Death Penalty Department (DP Department) as an Office Professional 2. The DP Department represents death- sentenced clients in direct appeal postconviction federal habeas clemency and related legal proceedings. We are comprised of 14 attorneys and three core sta professionals. We emphasize a client-centered team approach to representation and core administrative staff work closely alongside attorneys mitigation specialists fact investigators and other core administrative staff.

Your Office Professional 2 position plays a key role in client representation by performing clerical tasks and providing office assistance to our department. You will work closely with attorneys on clerical and office tasks maintain case documentation records and ling systems including digital files and larger physical files. This position reports to the DP Department Program Administrator and receives task assignments from the attorneys in the department.

A successful candidate will be detail oriented able to work independently and able to prioritize multiple tasks assigned by multiple people. A successful candidate will be comfortable with intermediate computer user tasks such as copying to external media source les that include audio and video recordings photographs Word documents Excel spreadsheets or PDF documents. A candidate would enjoy working in a professional and friendly environment that collaborates as a team to achieve the common goal of helping others and providing quality client service.

The Office Professional 2 position is assigned to the State of Ohios OCSEA Pay Range 26 presented below in table format. Starting pay will be at Step 1 unless required by contract/legislation; Candidates with exceptional qualifications may be considered for higher starting pay. Our steps give a standard path for earnings growth: you move to the next step after 4 month and annually thereafter. We typically have fiscal year Cost of Living Adjustments as well.
