Carolina Neurosurgery and Spine Associates (CNSA) is seeking a Full-Time Financial Counselor located in our Greensboro office. CNSA has been established as a private medical practice for over 80 years and currently has been recognized as one of Charlotte and North Carolinas Top Workplaces. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of healthcare billing or financial counselor experience. Must have the ability to multi-task and have a high degree of confidentiality accuracy and attention to detail. - Identifies delinquent accounts and contacts patients regarding payment arrangements prior to their scheduled appointment. Maintains communication with front desk for collection efforts.
- Communicates over the phone and in-person with patients to discuss payment policy payment plans and accepts patients financial status and establishes a budget payment plan within CNSAs policies as necessary.
- Prepares patient correspondence in accordance with CNSA policies.
- Utilizes various internal reports to monitor patient account activity takes appropriate action based on these reports and maintains communication with the affected internal and external parties.
- Processes posts and balances patient payments daily.
- Responds to inquiries from attorneys and patients.
- Identifies researches and resolves patient billing complaints/issues.
- Serves as a back-up to front desk for patient check-in as needed.
- Supports the A/R team as needed to complete assignments.
