Job Description

Banquet Server (Casual)

What you will be doing:
Reporting to the Director of Banquets responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide prompt courteous and efficient food & beverage service in accordance with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts food & beverage standards
  • Work as part of a team to provide a consistently high standard of service in areas such as meeting set ups and all meal functions
  • Effectively handle guest concerns through empowerment and report any irregularities to Leader
  • Report any deficiencies in equipment or level of supplies to the Banquet Captains
  • Ensure the equipment and all work areas are maintained to hotel standard
  • Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times
  • Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the hotel health and safety program
  • Carry out any other tasks as assigned

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional kneeling pushing pulling lifting.
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders stairs and ramps.

Qualifications :

Your experience and skills include:

  • Minimum 1 year in a similar function in Food & Beverage preferably Banquets or Conventions
  • Post-Secondary education in Hotel/Food and Beverage Management an asset
  • Selfmotivated with the ability to make effective decisions
  • Demonstrates initiative and the ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to maintain high service levels under pressure
  • Physically fit to lift trays repeatedly stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
  • You may be required to work on holidays weekends overnights and other non-day shifts.
  • Candidates must be legal to serve alcohol in Alberta (18 years of age) and must possess ProServe certification
  • Submission of your application to Fairmont Hotel Macdonald indicates that you are able to meet these requirements as needed.

Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining work authorization documents.

Hourly Rate Range: $16.51 - $17.51 CAD Gross per hour
