Midwest Grape and Wine Industry Institute - TemporaryAppointment Type:
Professional & ScientificRequired Minimum Qualifications:
Sophomore status or above (completed 1 year of University) Enrolled in a major in the following fields: Food science Chemistry Biochemistry Biology Chemical or Biological EngineeringPreferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a laboratory environment (outside of lab courses)Experience creating documents in Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint
Experience collecting organizing and interpreting experimental data
Job Description:
Job Duties:
Analysis of beverage products using industry standards and training from TTB certified chemists
Participation in research projects on advanced analytical equipment including: HPLC SPME-GCMS LC-MS PCR
Participation in brewing activities at the ISU brewery including brew day fermentations canning/packaging pasteurization
Visit to breweries and wineries with MGWII outreach staff
Participation in workshops held by MGWII and Food Innovation and Business Hub
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.
