Burlington School Districtis seeking a Part-Time Technology Integration Specialist to join the Teaching and Learning Technology Integration Specialist provides leadership professional development and instructional support to ensure technology integration is both impactful and equitable. The Technology Integration Specialist works closely with instructional and technical teams to enhance teaching practices optimize the use of educational software and digital resources and improve student learning outcomes. As a member of the Summative Assessment Team this role assists with the preparation and administration of various assessments. Additionally the Technology Integration Specialist supports educators and students in digital citizenship and innovation and emerging technologies working both independently and collaboratively.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
In Support of Teaching and Learning
- Collaborate with teachers to support their use of technology in delivery of curricula through a variety of instructional methods utilizing best practice frameworks for the integration of technology.
- Develop ways that technology can support personalized learning as defined by VTs Act 77 student centered learning concepts and project based learning in classrooms and remote learning environments where applicable.
- Serve as a teacher leader in coordinating teams to assess assistive technology needs consult on technology budgets provide professional development implement technology policies and propose technology related learning opportunities for staff and students.
- Provide training for district employees on the use of instructional and non instructional programs and hardware including learning management and student information systems.
- Lead design and participate in professional development activities in district regional state and select national settings
In support of Curriculum Instructional Resources and Assessment
- Design and deliver professional development to help educators create curriculum materials lesson plans and assessments that apply best practices for integrating technology across all grade levels and content areas.
- Identify emerging trends in educational software hardware and teaching strategies for integrating technology. Make recommendations for technology purchases to meet the educational needs of our staff and students.
- Provide leadership in the district developing and implementing K-12 curricula with a strong integrated technology component. Work may be done in PLC or other curriculum groups.
- Collaborate with the other Technology Integration Specialists in the implementation of a sequential curriculum to ensure common teaching and learning opportunities for K-12 students.
School and District Leadership
- Contributes to the development of district educational technology policies and/or procedures.
- Participate as a member of the district Technology Integration Specialist team and attend regional technology meetings as the districts representative.
- Consult on the technology budget with the Executive Director of Teaching & Learning for technology resources including hardware software learning resources and training needs.
- Facilitate clear communication between the teaching staff instructional technology department and data team.
- Demonstrate effective time management organizational skills and prioritization of work to meet the needs of the users.
- Attendance in accordance with established days/hours of work.
- Perform other tasks and duties as appropriate and/or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
Education:
- Minimum Required: Bachelors Degree in Education or related field.
- Preferred: Bachelors Degree in Education or related field.
- Certification Preferred: VT Educator license with an Educational Technology Specialist endorsement.
Experience:
- Minimum Required: Experience with best practices in effective technology teaching strategies for teaching software and hardware skills to both students and adults.
- Preferred:
- Three years of successful full-time experience as a classroom teacher.
- Two years of professional development experience educating teachers or other adults in the integration of technology for instruction and productivity using all of
