INTERMEDIATE TEACHER
Full-time (1.0 FTE) position
Eagle Harbour Montessori
Effective September 2 2025 until June 30 2026
The annual salary for a full-time teaching position ranges from $59711 to $109520 with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. The salary will be prorated based on FTE.
Required Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate must demonstrate the following:
- Familiarity with planning and teaching a Montessori program;
- Proven ability to integrate curricular areas and work in a multi-age setting;
- Proven ability and commitment to work co-operatively and effectively with other educators in a collegial team setting;
- Willingness to work in a small school and create an environment of flexibility risk taking and exploration;
- Demonstrated ability and experience to plan teach and assess an educational program building on the goals and outcomes of Ministry curricula;
- A clear understanding of the characteristics of early childhood and the ability to develop a positive learning environment addressing the intellectual physical and emotional needs of this age group;
- Proven ability to teach emergent literacy skills through best practice strategies;
- Competency in and ability to integrate technology into curriculum;
- Demonstrated ability to meet the needs of a diverse group of learners through a broad array of teaching strategies and differentiating instruction;
- Proven effective communication skills with students colleagues and parents;
- Hold a valid BC Professional Teaching Certificate
- Training and or recent successful experience teaching French as a Second Language would be considered an asset.
