The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking a Senior Structural Analysis Engineer to join the Air Vehicle Engineering team located in Oklahoma City Oklahoma.
A successful member of this team will understand and execute modifications and upgrades for the Bombers (B-1 and/or B-52) programs.
Position Responsibilities:
Plans and organizes structural analysis work at the program level to assure total compliance with structural integrity and stability requirements.
Develops integrates and documents complex or unique structural requirements to establish the system design.
Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the products environment.
Mentors trains and teaches younger analysts on stress methodologies
Is considered a subject matter expert and has deep comprehension of industry methods in structural analysts
Verifies structural integrity by defining requirements for development of analytical methods finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools to develop the airframe structural environment characteristics and performance of the product
Develops and uses Finite Element Models
Understands proper application of loads in FEMs
Understands industry best practices in airframe primary structure and loadpaths
Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by defining requirements for development of analytical methods finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools to develop the structural environment characteristics and performance of the product.
Works with customers and regulatory agencies to define certification processes that will ensure requirements are met.
Develops analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness quality and efficiency of the analysis and repair efforts
Ensures compliance with methodology and processes for stress analysis DaDT analysis and finite element modelling in the accomplishment of work
Reviews and approves certification results.
Develops test plans and configurations supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
Defines and organizes test programs to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.
Develops analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness quality and efficiency of the development effort.
Investigates emerging technologies to develop future product designs to meet projected requirements.
Works under consultative direction.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret clearance Post Start is required.
BasicQualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology) chemistry physics mathematics data science or computer science.
Experience with Finite Element Models (FEM)
Able to independently construct execute review and manage structural finite element models
15 or more years of experience in structural analysis
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Active U.S. Secret Clearance
Experience with Hypermesh Abaqus CAE and/or Nastran
Experience validating or verifying finite element model results
Strong written verbal communications and presentation skills
Experience with structural design principles for aircraft primary structures (e.g. fatigue damage tolerance corrosion stress analysis statics materials strength material characteristics and repair techniques)
Experience with Aircraft Primary Structures on Boeing Commercial Derivatives Commercial and/or Military applications (& 777)
