Senior Structural Analysis Engineer

Company:

The Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking a Senior Structural Analysis Engineer to join the Air Vehicle Engineering team located in Oklahoma City Oklahoma.

A successful member of this team will understand and execute modifications and upgrades for the Bombers (B-1 and/or B-52) programs.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Plans and organizes structural analysis work at the program level to assure total compliance with structural integrity and stability requirements.

  • Develops integrates and documents complex or unique structural requirements to establish the system design.

  • Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the products environment.

  • Mentors trains and teaches younger analysts on stress methodologies

  • Is considered a subject matter expert and has deep comprehension of industry methods in structural analysts

  • Verifies structural integrity by defining requirements for development of analytical methods finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools to develop the airframe structural environment characteristics and performance of the product

  • Develops and uses Finite Element Models

  • Understands proper application of loads in FEMs

  • Understands industry best practices in airframe primary structure and loadpaths

  • Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by defining requirements for development of analytical methods finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools to develop the structural environment characteristics and performance of the product.

  • Works with customers and regulatory agencies to define certification processes that will ensure requirements are met.

  • Develops analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness quality and efficiency of the analysis and repair efforts

  • Ensures compliance with methodology and processes for stress analysis DaDT analysis and finite element modelling in the accomplishment of work

  • Reviews and approves certification results.

  • Develops test plans and configurations supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.

  • Defines and organizes test programs to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.

  • Develops analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness quality and efficiency of the development effort.

  • Investigates emerging technologies to develop future product designs to meet projected requirements.

  • Works under consultative direction.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret clearance Post Start is required.

BasicQualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology) chemistry physics mathematics data science or computer science.

  • Experience with Finite Element Models (FEM)

  • Able to independently construct execute review and manage structural finite element models

  • 15 or more years of experience in structural analysis

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Active U.S. Secret Clearance

  • Experience with Hypermesh Abaqus CAE and/or Nastran

  • Experience validating or verifying finite element model results

  • Strong written verbal communications and presentation skills

  • Experience with structural design principles for aircraft primary structures (e.g. fatigue damage tolerance corrosion stress analysis statics materials strength material characteristics and repair techniques)

  • Experience with Aircraft Primary Structures on Boeing Commercial Derivatives Commercial and/or Military applications (& 777)
