We are seeking an individual who can provide mission-critical paraprofessional support for the business processes of the Regulation Division in permitting post-permitting and compliance/enforcement within statutorily-mandated and District-established time-frames. This position involves but is not limited to providing internal and external customer support data management and collaboration with other Divisions across the District to achieve results. The position may also support the financial activities of the Division. Youll have the chance to work with a wide range of teams in this promising position each of which plays a vital role in our efforts to preserve our most valuable natural resources.

Starting Compensation:

Business Process Technician 4 $17.24 - $19.61
Business Process Technician 5 $18.36 - $20.88

Thestartingsalary range is included for theBusiness Process Technicianprofile which reflects theminimum to approximately 25% of the respective pay grade. The starting salary will be based on the education and experience of the successful candidate. The District conducts annual performance evaluations that may award applicable pay increases based on positive employee performance.

Essential Functions

This position involves the processing of various documents using a variety of computer applications and provides support services to internal and external customers before after and during the permitting process. Tasks may include:

  • Internal and external customer contact to disseminate or clarify information
  • Process incoming mail and documents using a variety of computer applications
  • Data entry evaluation and update in various District systems
  • Reception/front desk support
  • Document imaging ensuring documents are electronic records compliant
  • This position functions as a designated Deputy Agency Clerk and provides reception/front desk coverage
  • Application entry including project boundary creation using ArcGIS
  • Detailed data management research and processing of permit-related information including ownership transfers financial documents outgoing correspondence and Compliance Tracking records
  • Process fees and generate permit-related financial documents as District cashier
  • Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance certified and responsible for equipment compliance

Working Conditions

Working Environmental Conditions: Work activity is primarily sedentary with ability to perform continuous repetitive tasks (to include keyboarding) with one or both hands. This position requires the ability to continuously lift and carry objects up to 10 pounds frequently lift and carry up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 70 pounds. Must be able to frequently bend and reach above shoulder level; with the occasionally need to squat crawl or climb.

Physical Visual Acuity Requirements: Sedentary Work Close Acuity Fingering Talking Hearing Repetitive Motion.

Employee may be subject to call-in outside of regularly scheduled work hours or required to be on call including on nights weekends or holidays to respond to emergency management activities or other incidents requiring rapid response in support of District operations.

Required Credentials for Regulatory Support Technician

Business Process Technician 4

  • Bachelors degree or higher and Three (3) years related work experience OR Associates degree or higher and Five (5) years related work experience OR High School Diploma and Seven (7) years related work experience
  • Valid drivers license

Business Process Technician 5

  • Bachelors degree or higher and Six (6) years related work experience OR Associates degree or higher and eight (8) years related work experience OR High School Diploma and ten (10) years related work experience
  • Valid drivers license

The District will determine eligibility for employment solely from the information provided on a District employment application. Applicants who are within 30 days of graduation if selected are not allowed to start until all minimum qualifications are met.

Additional Details

This position is typically scheduled to work 40 hours per week Monday to Friday out of the Tampa FLoffice. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation for hoursworked over 40 hours in a week.

Travel Required

travel using District vehicle within Districts coverage area.
