About The Job We are seeking a full-time Archaeologist IV (principal investigator) for our Portland or Seattle office. Qualified candidates interested in working remotely from other parts of the Pacific Northwest are also encouraged to apply. The successful applicant will manage and implement diverse cultural resources projects and work collaboratively with existing Dudek staff. Direct experience working in the Pacific Northwest is strongly desired as well as the ability to travel and work outside of the region. The qualified candidate will have experience managing client/agency/Tribal relationships and successfully managing projects to completion from start to finish.

Duties and Responsibilities (may include some or all of the below):
The applicant will be expected to collaborate with and include other members of the team. The mindset will be of we not of I with the understanding that we are all stronger and more creative as a group than on our own.
The applicant will be expected to have and pursue interests that can help drive our teams goals forward (which includes working on fun interesting and sometimes challenging projects) develop relationships with new clients and maintain existing relationships. Ability to champion proposals collaborate with other team members and clearly communicate will be necessary.
The applicant will be expected to lead successful implementation and management of all aspects of small- medium- and large-sized projects including surveys subsurface explorations significance testing mitigation data recovery investigations and archeological monitoring.
The applicant may be expected to supervise and mentor early-career staff and encourage their career growth within the team. The ability and willingness to do so is required of the candidate.
Minimum Requirements
Graduate degree (Masters or Doctoral degree in archaeology or anthropology)
Minimum of 8 years supervisory experience in cultural resource management responsible for the design and outcome of cultural resources investigations to meet regulatory requirements.
Good knowledge of the history archaeology and ethnography of the Pacific Northwest
Good working knowledge of federal cultural resources regulations and guidelines as well as familiarity with state and local regulations in Oregon and Washington.
Maintains good professional relationships with the regions agency and Tribal staff.
Must possess a valid drivers license and have active personal automobile liability insurance by first day of employment

Preferred Qualifications
Has been (or is qualified to be) the principal investigator for work conducted under ARPA permits in Oregon and Washington.
Registered professional archaeologist (RPA).
Good knowledge of and experience using ESRI survey and mapping products and collecting accurate field data.

Proposed Salary Range:$105000 - $125000 annually*
*Final agreed upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to an individuals related experience education certifications skills and work location.
