Position Overview
The Area Porter plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness functionality and overall appeal of Core Spaces properties within a designated area. This position is responsible for supporting maintenance and operations teams by ensuring that all common areas grounds and facilities are well-maintained clean and welcoming for residents and visitors.
What You Will Do
Property Maintenance
- Perform daily cleaning and upkeep of common areas hallways lobbies stairwells elevators and other high-traffic areas.
- Ensure outdoor spaces including courtyards parking lots and walkways are free of debris trash and hazards.
- Assist with light maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs unclogging drains or basic repairs as directed.
Trash Management
- Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables from designated areas including dumpsters and trash chutes.
- Ensure trash bins are clean organized and properly placed.
Support Maintenance and Operations Teams
- Assist in setting up and breaking down for property events or community activities.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests or tasks assigned by supervisors.
- Monitor the condition of property amenities and report any issues to the maintenance team.
Resident Relations
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally and courteously with residents and visitors.
- Address resident inquiries or direct them to the appropriate team member.
Compliance and Safety
- Adhere to company policies procedures and safety standards.
- Identify and report safety hazards or maintenance needs to supervisors.
Other
- Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned by management
- Must be able to complete all physical requirements of this role with or without a reasonable accommodation
- This role will be carried out across multiple property locations.
Ideally youll have
- High School or equivalent education preferred
- Proficient in simple computer tasks
Youll crush it if you have experience with
- One year experience in maintenance or a skilled trade
- Experience in the student housing or multi-family industry
- Experience supporting multiple properties
