The Resource Planning & Optimization team is responsible for effectively managing the CPGs resource plan inclusive of Metrolinx Infrastructure Ontario and Consultants (i.e. One Team). The team focuses on leveraging technological solutions to analyze resourcing needs while streamlining processes and procedures to ensure CPG has right resources with the right skills in order to deliver the capital program on-time on-budget and to a high-quality.
What will I be doing
- Develops and leads workforce planning strategies to support program delivery across CPG business units ensuring alignment with staffing requirements hiring targets and broader organizational objectives.
- Partners with project delivery teams HR Services Finance and Resource Optimization to ensure integrated workforce models consistent hiring practices and strategic alignment across all resourcing initiatives.
- Identifies and implements opportunities to improve workforce productivity and hiring efficiency developing proposals and action plans that drive continuous improvement.
- Manages Position Change Requests and ad hoc Resource Requests overseeing their submission tracking and execution in close collaboration with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure efficient resourcing.
- Analyzes vacancy and workforce data to identify resourcing gaps trends and deviations from baseline plans developing comprehensive reports that provide actionable insights to support data-driven decision-making mitigate risks and inform proactive workforce planning strategies.
- Assesses training needs and coordinates targeted development sessions to build workforce capability and support long-term talent readiness.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need
- Completion of a degree in Business Administration Transportation Planning or a related discipline or a combination of education training and experience deemed equivalent
- Demonstrated experience with coordinating complex projects under pressure to meet critical schedules and budgetary commitments preferably in transportation delivery and/or the public sector
- Project management principles and practices and interpersonal skills to coordinate complex projects (e.g. project development project progress related staff and project resources) and monitor project activities for adherence to timelines and budgetary commitments and project performance objectives
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify / address issues that may interfere with project completion and resolve conflicts within the project team
- Interpersonal and oral/written/presentation communication skills to prepare project status reports guide others in performing their day-to-day activities and identify training requirements
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset
- Ability to interpret data to drive decision-making with exposure to tools like Power BI
- Ability to create presentations for senior managing using PPT and to facilitate
- Ability to adapt to constant change and pivot with flexibility
