The final candidate selected for the position will be required to undergo a pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check. What Youll Do:
Law clerks and judicial attorneys review and analyze arguments presented in a variety of motions memoranda and briefs involving all areas of the Supreme Courts jurisdiction under Article IV Section 2(B) of the Ohio Constitution. In addition law clerks and judicial attorneys research and prepare initial drafts of merit opinions at the direction of the Chief Justice.
Chief Justice Sharon L. Kennedy of the Supreme Court of Ohio is accepting applications for the position of Law Clerk or Judicial Attorney in her chambers. The position will commence on September 1 2026 and will run through August 30 2027.
What were looking for:
The successful applicant will be a recent graduate from law school or a licensed attorney with exceptional research writing and analytical skills. Elite performance in law school participation on a law review or moot court board or publication of a noteworthy article is preferred. Prior clerkship experience will be considered positively. The ability to work independently collaboratively and efficiently is required. The successful applicant will be expected to perform his or her duties on a daily basis in the Thomas J. Moyer Ohio Judicial Center in Columbus.
