About the Department
The Investment Professionals function is responsible for origination due diligence and investment of capital into non-investment grade (and typically non-tradable) products. The Infrastructure focus specialises in equity and debt investments in infrastructure development projects and other infrastructure assets such as toll roads bridges airports railways and seaports.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Analystto join our Concession Infrastructure team in Paris. The successful candidate will primarily support theactive management of portfolio companies and theexecution of new investment opportunities. The role includes the analysis of technical legal and financial information financial modelling the performance of quarterly valuations and various reporting including on ESG and Sustainability.
The position is based in Paris but the role involves working closely and remotely with other members of the Concession Infrastructure Team based in other offices across Europe (London Madrid and Amsterdam). There could also be occasions when you will work with teams in Australia the US and Latin-America.
Key Responsibilities
The role is split into two distinct focuses asset management and investment which will see you covering a broad range of subject matter.
Asset Management
Assist under supervision in the ongoing asset management of existing portfolio Project companies and Holding companies including supporting board representatives performance monitoring and strategic decision-making
Conduct quarterly valuations for the portfolio of investments with assistance and supervision and transition to ownership of financial model for quarterly valuation templates
Assist in the identification and implementation of value enhancement and value protection initiatives across investments including monitoring and measurement of the impacts.
Assist in the annual funds external auditing and in the third-party independent asset valuation processes
Investment Activity
Conduct sectoral market research and due diligence on new investment opportunities
Support the development of greenfield & brownfield investment opportunities
Answer prequalification questionnaires support the negotiation of project and finance documents and contribute to successful financial closes.
Use financial models developed by advisors to run sensitivities and develop investment scenarios to support investment decisions and assist in the preparation of investment committee materials.
Support transaction execution including coordination with legal technical and financial advisors.
About the Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Previous experience in Project Finance/Infrastructure and preferably with a financial institution or within the finance team of a construction/infrastructure/renewable development group
Strong financial modelling and valuation skills (Excel proficiency required). Ability to understand and analyse financial statements and complex financial models
Knowledge of the PPP legal framework and Project finance sector or renewable energy infrastructure sector
Language skills: Fluent in French and English
Applications in English are preferred.
