Reports to: Director(s) of Athletics

Summary: The Head Athletic Coach is responsible for planning and administering specified sports programs and related activities including coaching and interscholastic athletic teams and performing other duties directly related to the position description.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:
Plan and direct effective practices and training sessions.
Teach basic skills and knowledge essential to the performance of the sport.
Provide individual and team counseling and motivation as required.
Ensure all athletes within the given sport(s) are competing and behaving according to the expectations stated in the FWC Athletic Handbook.
Plan for and direct the team at scheduled contests.
Make arrangements for transportation of team to contests and supervise team while traveling to and from contests (required to have a valid Drivers License and be able to drive a school vehicle and be able to transport student athletes).
Maintain expectations of team members in locker room areas.
Plan and direct the acquisition issuance maintenance inventorying and repair of uniforms and equipment.
Ensure all athletes are in compliance with TAPPS district and state requirements (will receive assistance from the Assistant Athletic Director).
Maintain individual and team results records and stats.
Distribute necessary information to TAPPS and local SID.
Assist in preparations and administering of athletic budget.
Assist in planning and direction of awards ceremonies.
Coordinate scouting of prospective opponents.
Plan and direct the services of Assistant Coaches if assigned.
Meet and communicate with parents regularly and as required.
Attend clinics and workshops to keep abreast of rule changes and to update coaching skills.
Establish and maintain a good leadership model and demonstratehigh standards of sportsmanlike conduct.

Exhibit the necessary knowledge and experience to effectively lead a specific sport.
