The Medical Assistant position is comfortable working in a fast-paced paperless environment. Daily tasks include taking vitals rooming patients cleaning rooms assisting with procedures etc. As an urgent care clinic we see mostly lower acuity patients but we are a patient-centric modern company focused on providing patients with excellent medical care. We are looking for someone with availability and flexibility to work weekdays weekends and some holidays. Additionally we are seeking someone who is willing to assist with urgent care duties as needed providing support across both primary care and urgent care settings.
This is a Primary Care Medical Assistant position. The Medical Assistant will work closely with the primary care clinician to support ongoing longitudinal care needs of patients. In this role you will help build long-term relationships with patients assisting with preventive care chronic disease management and routine check-ups. You will be a key member of a team focused on continuity of care and ensuring the best outcomes for our patients over time.
Perform patient care by taking vitals patient history and triaging
Assist with procedures such as incision and drainage lacerations and wound care
Administer medications via intradermal intramuscular and subcutaneous routes carry out ear lavages and run EKGs
Conduct lab testing such as urinalysis urine pregnancy test blood glucose testing monospot rapid strep and influenza testing rapid HIV testing
Manage the front desk and perform receptionist duties as needed
Complete training and become certified with the Department of Transportation to perform Urine Drug Screens and Breath Alcohol Tests
Collaborate with primary care clinicians to ensure coordinated care for patients
Provide patient education on preventive health measures such as immunizations screenings and lifestyle modifications
Assist with chronic disease management and follow-up care ensuring patients are staying on track with treatment plans
Foster relationships with patients by providing compassionate care in a team-oriented patient-centered environment
Be willing to assist with urgent care responsibilities as needed including supporting walk-in patients injuries and other urgent medical needs
High school diploma or equivalent
Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program (except in those location(s) permitted by law for exemption with experience diploma and/or national certification)
Current BLS certification willingness to obtain DOT certification
1 years of experience as a Medical Assistant preferred
Phlebotomy experience preferred
Great communication skills
Interest in building long-term relationships with patients and providing continuous comprehensive care
Ability to thrive in a collaborative team-oriented environment focused on patient outcomes
Willingness to assist with urgent care duties as needed while maintaining focus on primary care responsibilities
