Job Description

This is a remote position.

Virtual Rockstar is seeking a detailoriented and experienced Medical Biller to support the billing and claims operations of a busy outpatient physical therapy clinic. The ideal candidate will manage the full billing cycle including claims submission payment posting and denial management while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and client policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review claims submitted by clinicians for accuracy and completeness

  • Submit clean claims to insurance companies in a timely manner

  • Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations

  • Process and post insurance and patient payments to accounts

  • Follow up on unpaid or denied claims; investigate and submit appeals

  • Handle insurance verification preauthorizations and documentation tracking

  • Generate patient statements and manage balance due communications

  • Maintain uptodate knowledge of billing codes and insurance regulations

  • Prepare reports to track claim statuses and reconcile account balances

  • Communicate professionally with insurance providers patients and internal team members

  • Ensure full compliance with HIPAA and privacy regulations



Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing preferably in a physical therapy or outpatient clinic setting

  • Strong understanding of insurance claim workflows including denials and appeals

  • Experience with payment posting and reconciliation

  • Familiarity with medical billing codes and insurance terminology

  • Knowledge of HIPAA and billing compliance standards

  • Excellent organizational communication and problemsolving skills

  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Previous experience in a medical administrative role (medical assistant, medical receptionist, or similar) is preferred. Familiarity with WebPT EMR and Therabill for patient payment posting is a plus. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. High level of professionalism and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality. Comfortable with remote work and proficient in using virtual communication tools. Knowledge of insurance verification and pre-authorizations is a plus. Ability to work collaboratively with a team and contribute to a positive patient experience.
