Normal Work Schedule:Monday Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm; with additional hours as needed to support events and programs.
Job Summary:The University Programs Coordinator works with the student programming boards to coordinate implement market and assess weekly events for University Programs and campuswide events. Assists in the daytoday advisement of a student programming board to include frequent interaction and collaboration with other student groups campus departments businesses vendors and community members. Provides oversight plan execute and host events for University Programs during early morning late night and weekend programming signature initiatives campus wide.
Additional Department Summary:Coordinates with vendors oncampus partners and other stakeholders to execute event needs. Participates in staff training meetings serve on committees attend conferences and other programs promoting University Programs and Division of Student Life. Completes required training and promoting a safe hospitable and respectful workplace. Responsible for holding staff accountable for completion of required training. Has personal accountability for financial reporting and responsibility for establishing enforcing and following internal processes and controls as outlined in UA policies and procedures.
Required Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree or higher.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree and 12 years experience in event planning marketing communications working with or supervising student staff advising student programming boards or organizations or other related experience.
Must be able to work early mornings and frequent nights and weekends. Some travel may be required.
Must have valid U.S. drivers license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge:Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks. Ability to work in a highly confidential fastpaced environment with multiple shifting priorities. Demonstrated commitment to supporting all students.
Preferred Qualifications:Masters degree in higher education management marketing communication public relations hospitality management organizational leadership or closely related field. Graduate or professional experience in student programming communications marketing graphic design or student development and higher education administration. Experience with photography and videography or working knowledge of website design and social media management. Experience working within a higher education (university or college) environment.
