is growing quickly and were looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help accelerate our growth. This role will be responsible for helping build out sitewide tracking architecture on and then feeding that MLS data. This individual will help build and deliver the data engineering architecture for and work across all departments to provide analysis and insights for future growth. You will be part of various aspects of our data management ranging from designing and maintaining automated data infrastructure and delivering Data engineering and Analytics solutions to facilitating data access and analysis for key company teams.

This position is in Arlington VA and offers a hybrid schedule of 4 days onsite 1 day remote.

Responsibilities

  • Design develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and data processes using Databricks Data Factory and other AWS services.

  • Design and develop using Object Oriented design principles and software design patterns to attain high reusability and maintainability

  • Building and deploying AI/ML models: Integrate Machine Learning into data pipelines leverage Databricks ML and AWS ML to develop predictive models and drive business insights.

  • Understand various data domains and be able to translate them through data transformations to suit various business needs

  • Oversee automated data infrastructure: Collaborate with software engineering and product teams to streamline data tracking in our products.

  • Ability to integrate data from different sources via cross domain data stitch into existing data model

  • Develop and maintain secure data warehouses and data lakehouses: Implement data models data quality checks and governance practices to ensure reliable and accurate data.

  • Handson data optimization and query performance

  • Liaise with key company teams (DBA DevOps SecOps) for data accessibility and analysis

  • Mentor and manage engineers and analysts in the normal execution of their responsibilities.

  • Successfully implement software development projects to specification and within scheduled timelines and budget parameters

  • Leverage AWS DevOps and CI/CD best practices to automate the deployment and management of data pipelines and infrastructure.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science Computer Engineering Mathematics or adjacent field required from an accredited not for profit university or college

  • A track record of commitment to prior employers

  • 5 years of data engineering experience

  • Advanced SQL Excel and Python skills

  • 5 years of production development experience with C# .Net (or .Net Core) or Java

  • Experience delivering products that meet specifications and performance SLA

  • Experienced in unit performance and automation testing

  • Deeply understand what drives the business for which you are building software

  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams: Work closely with business analysts data scientists and DevOps engineers to ensure successful data platform implementations.

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Cloud data lakes/storage/databases and tools such as AWS S3 Databricks Data Pipeline and other Cloud providers such as AWS

  • Background in the residential or commercial real estate industry

  • Experience in relational database design (AWS RDS MS SQL) including performance tuning

  • Experience with AWS S3 Step Functions Lambda SQS Dynamo ElastiCache Apache Kafka and Datadog

  • A demonstrable track record of building and launching successful products and platforms
