Position Overview:
Work closely with project and engineering releases production planning and production personnel in developing work order routers and manufacturing documentation to process parts and materials. Select resources to manufacture parts effectively provide instructions to maximize repeatability and implement strategies to improve productivity. Provide estimates on material costs special processing and labor requirements for new products. Lead projects to Improve machining fabrication and assembly operations by reducing operating costs reducing lead time and improving product quality.
Key Job Duties:
Review drawings for manufacturability verify accuracy and completeness
Determine appropriate processes work centers and instructions to create and maintain routers
Develop manufacturing routers: The set of detailed work instructions defining the sequence of operations resources labor standards and special instructions required to manufacture a part
Ensure router standards operation structure and BOM are accurate
Problemsolve technical issues by interfacing with product engineering SMEs and production personnel
Develop and implement work instructions procedures and other manufacturing documentation to enhance customer satisfaction and manufacturing performance
Identify and implement manufacturing process solutions that will assist the department in achieving high quality cost savings and shortened lead times
Influence process standardization the development of work center capabilities and improving capacities
Initiate and Submit Engineering Change Requests for Redlined Drawings:
Use the Engineering Change Requests to initiate changes to design drawing and/or process
Provide technical support to manufacturing shop as needed
Stay abreast of changes in technology that will improve manufacturing efficiency
Create leaner more efficient and more profitable business practices
Requirements:
B.S. Degree in Manufacturing and/or Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of 2 years engineering experience in low volume/high mix manufacturing environments
Preferred experience with SolidWorks AutoCAD and CAD/CAM applications
Working knowledge of NC/CNC machines (345 Axis Milling Turning and Boring)
Fixture Design / Work holding Experience with design of fixtures and work holding
Confident Presentation and Communication skills

Detailed analysis and evaluation practices
Mechanical aptitude
Knowledgeable about Materials: Strengths Mechanicals Chemistry (Steels Alloys forgings castings)
Experienced with Nondestructive examination (NDE) testing and application
Capable of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Capable of using inspection devices (micrometers calipers height gages ring/plug gages)
