Position Description for Custer County School District C1 Westcliffe Colorado
The Custer County School District Board of Education in Westcliffe Colorado is seeking a highly qualified Superintendent. The Board wishes to have the successful candidate assume the responsibilities of the position July 1 2025.
McPherson & Jacobson L.L.C. Executive Recruitment and Development has been engaged as the consultant in a search for outstanding candidates. They will assist the board of education in identifying and screening the candidates.
Enrollment: 350
Location: Westcliffe 55 miles west of Pueblo Colorado
The Qualifications
The candidate must have the background skills and abilities essential for leading a small rural school district. The board recognizes that selecting a superintendent is one of the most important decisions it will make.
The Board of Education seeks an experienced educational leader who:
- Effectively creates motivates and inspires all stakeholders to achieve a common vision
- Possesses strong problemsolving skills and decisionmaking abilities
- Understands and embraces the opportunities and challenges inherent in small rural communities
- Is committed to continuous improvement and has demonstrated success in serving as a mentor leading systemic and cultural change
- Demonstrates empathy emotional intelligence and integrity
- Actively engages listens and effectively communicates with staff parents and community
- Mirrors the values and supports the traditions of Custer County
Additional Requirements:
- Selected candidate must possess or qualify for required Colorado licensure
Salary and Benefits:
- $115000 $135000 plus full family benefits subject to negotiation
