Every member of our team is a valuable resource in this pursuit of excellence and we are currently seeking a long term substitute Art Teacher at McKennyHarrison and Waterloo Elementary Schools!

This position will be from approximately August 31 2025 throughOctober 24 2025.

Your day to day:

  • Under direction you will teach and instruct students in elementary level art.
  • Plan develop organize and conduct a comprehensive education program for elementary grade students.
  • Support students parents and others in assisting students in adjusting to a structured educational environment.
  • Create and maintain an environment that fosters student achievement and the development of lifelong skills
  • Maximize opportunities for student success by creating positive working relationships with students and staff.
  • Actively participate in the establishment of policies and procedures that make sense for this unique teaching and learning environment.
  • Remain flexible innovative and adaptive to change.
  • Show confidence in working with new technology and various application packages.
  • Be a role model for students regarding lifelong learning and professional behavior
  • Perform other related functions as required.

  • You have worked hard to obtain a bachelors degree or higher in elementary education instructional technology a subject matter commonly taught in the elementary grades or closely related field.
  • You have successfully completed student teaching at an accredited college or university.
  • You have obtained a license as an elementary teacher.
  • You are a creative thinker and problem solver an excellent communicator with strong collaboration skills and are a team player.
  • You can demonstrate proficient use of technology.
  • You have knowledge of the principles theories methods techniques and strategies pertaining to teaching and instruction of elementary grade pupils and child growth and development and behavior characteristics of the elementary grade child.
  • You have an understanding of educational curriculum and instructional goals and objectives and the educational trends and research findings pertaining to early childhood educational programming.
  • You possess an understanding of behavior management and behavior shaping strategies techniques and methods and conflict resolution procedures.
  • You understand the socioeconomic and cultural background differences of the general school population.
