Responsibilities
Own key design work packages across several NPI programmes and Integrated Product Teams.
Introduce mods and amendments in support of inservice requests ongoing production and repair operations.
With project managers contribute to the estimation (scope time cost) of assigned work packages.
Manage requirements and specifications.
Identify opportunities to improve system and component attributes (i.e. efficiency noise weight stress manufacturability cost).
Generate and release designs with supporting analyses (DfM & DfA cost preliminary stress & dynamics).
Manage risk assessments (incl. DFMEA / PFMEA).
Support development and V&V activities (incl. rig and flight test).
Support plant objectives through daily interaction with Operations.
Lead the continuous improvement of design processes and workflows (CAD CAE PLM). Identify and document design best practices.
Lead and mentor other staff and trainees.
Qualifications / Requirements
Mechanical engineering degree aerospace engineering degree or equivalent.
Extensive experience in mechanical design incl. integration of large assemblies and configuration management.
Demonstrable experience of design for manufacture and assembly.
Existing signatory status for CAD and drawings release (ASME Y14.5 GD&T).
Existing signatory status for concessions and technical variances approval.
Expert knowledge of Catia Creo or NX.
Desired
Ability to Lead Integrated Product Teams.
Experience of design and CAE analysis of rotating machinery.
Integration of electromechanical machines and actuators.
Experience of PTC Windchill.
