The Transformer Technician III Supervisor will oversee the installation assembly maintenance repair and testing of a diverse range of transformers from various Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). Responsibilities: VA MD NC SC - Oversee and assist in the assembly of transformers including critical components such as radiators bushings and conservators.
- Oversee and assists in degassing operations to ensure optimal performance and reliability of transformers.
- Oversee and assist in the regasketing of transformers including the creation and installation of new gaskets and Orings.
- Oversee and assist in the removal of damaged components and ensure proper preparation for transportation.
- Oversee and assist in oil sampling filling and the operation of oil processing rigs following established protocols including dryout procedures.
- Oversee and assist in pressure testing and vacuum procedures using dehydrator units ensuring all processes meet operational standards.
- Oversee and assist in troubleshooting efforts to identify and fix control wiring issues ensuring the reliability of transformer systems.
- Oversee and perform transformer testing and troubleshooting including Megger TTR SFRA Power Factor Core Ground etc.
- Oversee and assist in the testing of transformers and accessories including passivation.
- Oversee and assist in the testing of alarms and system protections in the transformer.
- Assist and perform troubleshooting of the control wiring.
- Oversee and participate in transformer electrical testing as specified by Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) utility companies end users etc.
- Manage and ensure the timely completion of work orders and daily tasks related to repair operations maintaining a high standard of work quality.
- Manage the upkeep of vehicles tools and equipment coordinating necessary maintenance to keep all assets in safe operating condition.
- Ensure that all test results are meticulously documented reviewed and that detailed reports are generated and submitted to customers promptly and accurately.
- Oversee adherence to company policies procedures safety guidelines and environmental standards with an emphasis on spill containment.
- Ensure the safe operation of industrial and construction equipment monitoring adherence to capacity and load limits.
- Support the Sales team in providing leads for potential projects.
- Assist in recruitment efforts.
- Assume other duties as assigned
Qualifications: - 510 years of experiencetransformer oil work transformer testing transformer assembly transformer service or transferable experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office online tools and basic computer skills.
- Advanced Load Tap Changer experience.
- Previous experience operating electrical equipment and shop tools is a plus.
- Prior experience degassing and oil processing preferred.
- Able to interpret work scopes drawings diagrams and technical documents (both)
- Knowledge or related experience in prepping units for disposal following proper environmental disposal procedures.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with both internal and external customers in a positive and professional manner
- Able to work independently and complete projects with minimal supervision.
- Other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements: - Work location varied depending on client and project assignment
- Ability to travel 80% of the time including weekends and evenings.
- Class A CDL preferred
- OSHA certification and TWIC card are a plus

Working Conditions: This job requires the ability to respond to 24/7 call outs and to work extended hours including evenings nights weekends and holidays as needed. Work may be conducted outdoors in all weather conditions near low medium and highvoltage equipment and heavy machinery in areas with elevations in excess of 100 feet and confined spaces adhering to strict safety protocols. Exposure to loud noises from machinery is common necessitating the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). This job involves risk of electrical shock. This job requires frequent travel between RMS facilities and customer sites. Physical Requirements:
The position demands physical mobility to navigate uneven surfaces the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly fine motor skills for handling small components and tools and the capability to climb ladders and work at heights. Sustained physical effort including standing bending pushing digging pulling kneeling crawling and reaching for extended periods is required. Good vision including color vision and depth perception and the ability to hear alarms and communications in noisy environments are essential. Additionally proficiency in speaking hearing reading and typing in English is required for effective communication and documentation.
