Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Position: Fulltime

Schedule: 5AM5PM every other holiday and every 4th weekend rotation

What would you do as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

At Hills & Dales Child Development Center we are on the lookout for a dedicated FullTime Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our mission of building meaningful lives for children and young adults with disabilities. In this exciting role youll provide vital nursing care by monitoring resident health implementing necessary interventions and adeptly documenting observations. Youll swiftly respond to emergencies while maintaining temporary care plans for those with health deviations.

Effective communication is essential; youll coordinate with staff pharmacies and medical appointments to ensure seamless care. Your expertise will also extend to supervising Certified Medication Aides and educating fellow staff members on their health care responsibilities. Upholding compliance with HIPAA regulations youll document services accurately while addressing safety needs within our facility.

What you need to be successful

To thrive as a FullTime Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Hills & Dales Child Development Center candidates must possess a blend of essential skills and qualifications. A high school diploma or equivalent is required along with a current certification as a licensed practical nurse. A minimum of one year of nursing experience particularly with our targeted population is strongly preferred to ensure effective care delivery. You must hold a current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and be trained as a Mandatory Reporter in compliance with Iowa state guidelines.

Successful candidates will also demonstrate the ability to maintain certification in QBS (Crisis Prevention Institute) as assigned. Additionally a valid drivers license is necessary for driving agency vehicles as needed. Strong communication skills empathy and a commitment to advocacy are vital to excel in this collaborative personcentered environment. Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
