Summary of Job Duties:
THIS POSITION WILL WORK THREE 12 HOUR SHIFTS (FriSun or SatMon) WITH AN ADDITIONAL 4 HOUR COVERAGE (Tues evenings remote option). The Licensed Social Worker at the Psychiatric Research Institutes adult inpatient units functions in the role assisting the patient and family and interdisciplinary team through the care episode. Primary duties in addition to any discharge planning activities include individual group and family therapy to the adult population communicating with the patients assisting in the development of a specific treatment plan that reflects the therapeutic intervention to address the patients needs. Provides services through the Psychiatric Consultation Liaison Service.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Social Work
- Licensed by an Arkansas Professional Board Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)
- Ability to use Microsoft Office programs Word Excel Outlook
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in acute adult mental health field
- Two (2) years of work experience in the behavioral health field
- Required CPI upon hire; CPR prior to hire
Additional Information:
- Organizes patient support groups and serves as an advocate for patients within the community.
- Assists patients and families with education coping strategies adjustment to disease grief response and acute or chronic mental health issues.
- investigates child abuse or neglect cases and takes authorized protective action when necessary.
- Intervenes in crisis situations to assist clients and conducts assessments to determine needs.
- Under the supervision of a licensed psychologist psychiatrist or licensed certified social worker provides psychosocial assistance to patients and families in the areas of financial challenges local housing transportation food and prescribed medications.
