Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Lead a geographically and culturallydiverse team which manages Windows Server and Linux servers and appliances at an enterprise level.
Possess knowledge of server virtualization concepts and practices and the operating systems deployed on virtual machines.
Prepare strategic plans estimates project schedules and reports for management. Provide quality assurance and leadership in solving system problems and designing system enhancements.
Participate in key project deliverables; provide proactive consulting and direction as needed. Help articulate and support key architectural and technical objectives through project teams and provide a focused accessible body of knowledge and historical/directional perspective on various IT systems and resources.
Drive operational excellence by ensuring all deliverables have an established response time and performance objectives as needed to meet SLAs.
Ensure that security and efficiency underpin all decisions.
Groom team members for advancement.
Coordinate with other teams to synchronize common goals and activities within IT and with business partners. Proactively track and evaluate new technologies and initiatives.
Responsible for providing the development support and leadership for the design and implementation of data system integration adherence to enterprisewide data and software architectural goals and completion of comprehensive documentation. Assist in the development of solutions to control access and ensure data and program integrity.
Provide functional leadership to ensure that complex implementations and integrations of databases systems operating systems networks and vendor software are successful and tested endtoend.
Provide leadership support for incident and problem resolution in a 24x7x365 environment.
Understand key cost elements related to the delivery of projects products or systems. Seek methods to optimize performance reduce costs and improve service levels. Formulate systems scope and objectives; provide highlevel estimates on complex systems and present to management.
Manage operational and capital expense budgets.
Maintain expert knowledge on inhouse systems appropriate vendor systems product performance viability and pricing. Seen as an expert both internally and externally. Analyze and evaluate complex application designs for compatibility with existing systems and compliance to Caesars and known industry standards and consistency with Caesars longterm business needs strategies and policies.
Possess an indepth knowledge of the business value of technology and can communicate it both within and outside IT.
Act as a subject matter expert (SME) across a variety of functions and organizations.
Oversee contractors and assess their work quality and cost effectiveness.
Fulfill other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Indepth knowledge of gaming hospitality and sports wagering business processes rules system platforms and infrastructure architecture. Develops and trains internal staff on business processes.
Stay current with future design development and functional trends by attending relevant educational courses seminars and conferences. Maintain indepth knowledge on appropriate business functionality and software design/development methodologies. Share knowledge with management peers and coworkers to maintain Caesars leadership position in the IT community.
Experience in realtime systems and missioncritical systems required. High degree of knowledge of gaming hospitality and sports wagering systems and organization. Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership and direction.
Strong analytical problemsolving skills consulting skills and the ability to make recommendations provide assistance or help with planning from a basis of personal expertise where no formal or direct reporting relationship exists. Speaks effectively and clearly with the ability to influence others in both positive and negative circumstances and produce the best outcome. Ability to negotiate successfully with vendors to secure the most favorable terms for Caesars.
Speaks positively of the organization and motivate team members to do the same.
Ability to provide direction leadership and guidance to peers management and coworkers. Excellent communication and presentation skills required.
Ability to obtain and maintain gaming permits where required.
EDUCATION and/or QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field. Masters degree preferred.
Strong understanding of technical disciplines and computer concepts required.
Minimum 10 years experience with a proven track record in project leadership project management systems analysis and design change management and user management in an environment of multiple complex interrelated systems.
