Job Description
Lighthouse Lab Services is seeking an experienced Molecular Technologist to join a urology practice near Orlando FL. This inhouse laboratory specializes in molecular testing with a primary emphasis on PCR UTI testing. The position offers a flexible MondayFriday schedule with an average workload of 30 to 40 hours per week depending on the needs of the practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform molecular testing with a primary focus on PCRbased UTI testing.
- Operate maintain and troubleshoot QuantStudio equipment to ensure accurate and efficient results.
- Conduct DNA/RNA extraction and prepare samples for realtime PCR analysis.
- Analyze interpret and report test results with a high degree of accuracy.
- Maintain strict adherence to laboratory protocols including compliance with HIPAA cGMP and CAP/CLIA regulations.
- Manage laboratory inventory including reagents and consumables ensuring readiness for testing.
- Collaborate with medical staff to optimize test performance and turnaround times.
- Participate in quality assurance activities including instrument calibration proficiency testing and performance monitoring.
- Provide technical support and training for staff as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors degree in Molecular Biology Biotechnology or a related field.
- Certification: Florida technologist license is required
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in molecular diagnostics with specific expertise in PCR testing.
- Handson experience with QuantStudio equipment is required.
- Skills:
- Proficient in DNA/RNA extraction and realtime PCR techniques.
- Strong troubleshooting and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance including CAP/CLIA standards.
