The Boeing Company is looking for a Senior Software Engineer DevSecOps (Virtual) to join the High Fidelity Virtual Cab (HFVC) team based in Long Beach California. This work includes managing cloud infrastructure development pipelines deployment pipelines and managing computing infrastructure compliance for activities related to the development and integration of game engines virtual machines models and simulations.

The ideal candidate is a leader selfstarter enjoys working collaboratively with others has a commitment to customer satisfaction and process improvement and is successful working in a multiprogram environment. This position will support the development of solutions to a wide range of complex problems that require ingenuity and innovation. The candidate should be adaptable to new development environments and eager to work with and learn new technologies.

The selected DevSecOps candidate will be the Lead for the Simulation Integration & Modeling (SIM) organization supporting multiple teams within SIM including HFVC team. Duties will include:

  • Support Boeing Software Factory (BSF) transition/cloud environments setting up infrastructure to support complex simulations.
  • Configure various AWS services such as EC2 instances VPCs security groups subnets and other AWS tools along with Azure.
  • Building a platform that helps the organization more fully adopt practices like continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) and automated testing.
  • Working on ways to continuously improve the stability efficiency and performance of the platform.
  • Maintain and manage servers to ensure IT compliance with Boeings security and operational standards.
  • Develop maintain and administer tools that deal with Export Compliance Software License Compliance Metrics and Assigned User Groups/Projects.
  • Develop and maintain a roadmap and architecture for DevSecOps for all of SIM organization coordinating with multiple SIM teams and architects.

This position has been identified as a virtual opportunity and does not require applicants to live in Long Beach CA.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads development documentation and maintenance of standardized efficient and innovativeprocesses tools methodologies and performance metrics to streamline the software engineeringlifecycle and enable continuous integration delivery and deployment of safety critical software.
  • Leads automation development monitoring improvement and troubleshooting across softwaredevelopment tooling testing integration deployment configuration processes and securitycontrols.
  • Leads analysis planning and execution of mitigation strategies to prevent potentialsecurity risks threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Implements an environment that enables high levels ofquality safety compliance and continuous improvement across the organization.
  • Collaborates withcross functional teams to build and maintain robust scalable and secure software engineeringsystems.
  • Leads implementation of current and emerging technologies tools frameworks andregulations in the software engineeringDevSecOpsenvironment.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • 5 years of experience in development frameworks cloud native technologies and tools such as CI/CD pipelines UML Java .Net Docker Kubernetes JavaScript AWS/Azure Cloud
  • 5 years of experience automating software builds unit tests integration tests deployment and installations using a DevOps tool chain (Jenkins Nexus Artifactory etc)
  • 5 years of experience in C/C software development
  • 5 years of experience in Linux Windows systems administration

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology) chemistry physics mathematics data science or computer science
  • Knowledge of cloud architecture including the different types of clouds (public private and hybrid) the different cloud platforms and the various components involved (computing storage and networking). Ability to automate and script skills. Knowledge of containerization technologies which includes understanding how to manage containers deploy applications in a containerized environment and troubleshoot issues. Knowledge of understanding of networking concepts including IP addressing subnetting routing and security (focus on security best practices and technologies).
  • Knowledge of host environments including processors operating systems and networks. Ability to build integrate and troubleshoot software components.
  • Ability to develop new network technology. Knowledge of network communication concepts principles and architectures associated with network planning design integration and maintenance. Endtoend knowledge of network transport technologies systems environments services protocols performance monitoring and diagnostic analysis. Knowledge of network security techniques network management practices and principles.
  • Knowledge of general and software development and testing tools capability and usage. Examples include compilers linkers debuggers data analysis tools graphical user interface builders post processing tools requirements management tools and web authoring tools.
  • Ability to design and develop automation of software tests execute automated tests track results manage test data and utilize results to improve software quality.
  • Ability to understand the big picture and the interrelationships of all positions and activities in the system including the impact of changes in one area on another area. This includes the ability to see and understand the interrelationships between components of systems and plans anticipate future events and apply the principles of systems thinking to accelerate performance.
