Job Description

Direct organize and oversee the programmatic development of the Celiac Disease Program in collaboration with medical leadership. Works to integrate community needs into clinical infrastructure. Collaborates with local schools community leaders national foundations and local businesses to help partner in Celiac disease education and advocacy. Guide the development of educational resources for the community including webinars webbased resources inperson events.

Partner with SCH Medical Team (Led by Dale Lee MD): Plan quarterly patient/family support groups and broader regional support network infrastructure. Lead and develop opportunities for the Celiac Youth Leadership Council. Guide the develop of programs to support the psychosocial needs of children and families with Celiac disease. Oversee programs focusing on equity/foodinsecurity around the glutenfree diet including the Glutenfree Kitchen Starter Kit program the Celiac Program Family Support Fund program and Celiac Holiday Celebration Fund.

Partner with SC External Affairs and Community Relations: Identify opportunities for local/regional/national advocacy on policies/infrastructure involving food insecurity the cost of glutenfree foods food allergen awareness and support for youth with chronic medical conditions.

Partner with the SCH Foundation and Guild Association: To identify and support fundraising and outreach opportunities (including the yearly Running from Gluten 5K event) Refer prospective donors and regularly communicate needs and funding opportunities appropriate for philanthropy. Support the stewardship of donors at all levels by articulating outcomes supported by philanthropy (i.e. how many families able to be reached with Glutenfree Kitchen Starter Kit and Celiac Program Family Support Fund) Partner with center leadership to develop a vision for how to best integrate a culture of philanthropy into clinical/programmatic infrastructure.

This is a limitedterm position slated for 2 years.

Required Education and Experience
Experience and dedication to bringing community voice to healthrelated programs and practices and demonstrated knowledge and history of authentic community engagement practices.
Basic knowledge of population health and monitoring and evaluation of community health and community engagement programs.
Basic knowledge in nutrition and glutenfree diet
Working knowledge of health care delivery systems communitybased organizations social and other determinants of health.
Commitment to Seattle Childrens values of collaboration compassion equity excellence innovation and integrity and able to embrace different perspectives and the uniqueness of others.

Preferred
At least 3 years experience in health communication and demonstrated knowledge and understanding of advocacy.
Experience with advocacy and education within the Celiac disease community
Experience in program planning and business development.

Compensation Range

$28.44 $42.66 per hour

Salary Information

This compensation range was calculated based on fulltime employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity skills experience and expertise and may vary within the range provided.
