Job Description
To excel in this role you must possess a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and have completed a PGY2 residency in oncology or have equivalent clinical experience. - Develop and implement Beacon therapy plans for patients with cancer utilizing specialized knowledge and expertise to optimize patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess patients medication regimens and make recommendations for changes or adjustments as needed.
- Conduct thorough medication reviews and provide patient education on proper medication usage potential side effects and drug interactions.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of medication therapy and make necessary interventions to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Serve as a resource for healthcare providers and other staff members regarding medication therapy for patients with cancer.
- Stay current with the latest developments and research in the field of oncology and incorporate new information into practice.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records including medication histories assessments and interventions.
- Provide clinical guidance and support to pharmacy staff including technicians and students.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals such as physicians and nurses to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients with cancer.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant laws regulations and policies related to pharmacy practice.
- Participate in professional development activities such as continuing education to maintain and enhance clinical skills and knowledge
Additional Job Description
Minimum Training and Education: Doctor of Pharmacy or a Bachelors degree in pharmacy. Completion of a pharmacy residency Licensure Certifications Registrations: Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy.
