NATURE AND SCOPE OF WORK Candidates for this position must have experience supporting individuals in developing their professional skills and entrepreneurial capabilities. The role involves delivering instruction aligned with the Massachusetts Vocational Technical Curriculum Frameworks (Chapter 74) with particular emphasis on Strand 3 Academic/Technical Crosswalk Strand 4 Employability and Career Readiness Skills Strand 5 Management and Entrepreneurship and Strand 6 Massachusetts Digital Literacy and Computer Science Framework. Additional instructional areas may include but are not limited to financial literacy marketing interviewing techniques public speaking resume writing networking and supporting professional competitions including but not limited to SkillsUSA. The ideal candidate works to reinforce transferable skills to implement applicable Massachusetts Frameworks Standards and Practices. Major Responsibilities:Plan and deliver a program of study that meets the individual needs interests and abilities of students. Collaborate with all Minuteman staff to create and implement courses covering entrepreneur and professional skills as well as applicable Massachusetts Frameworks Standards and Practices. Maintain a schedule of all entrepreneur and professional skills to work as part of a team to foster a positive working relationship with students and that all students complete a business plan and submit it into their portfolios. Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to students maturity and the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for all lessons units projects and the like to communicate these objectives to instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectivesAssess the accomplishments of students regularly and provide progress reports as all records necessary for reporting student grades performance and the documentation of students using Minutemans competency tracking system. Post grades in accordance with school with colleagues students and parents the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and rules of classroom behavior and procedure and maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just and/or assist in the development of a departmental the condition of classroom/shop facilitiesAttend staff or team meetings and serve on staff committees as required;Maintain and improve professional any other related task or duty at the direction of administrationQUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITIONKnowledge and Abilities Required:Proficient with the use of technology. Minimum 2 years teaching experience preferred. Minimum of 5 years experience in the workforce of the Massachusetts Vocational Technical Curriculum Frameworks is required specifically Strands 3 4 5 and 6. Previous experience with a student management system preferred (Aspen Power School School Brains etc.) but not residency or work VISA in United States requiredCertification/License Required:Chapter 74 Licensed or Educator License by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education professionally licensed preferredCONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENTEquipment Used: Copier fax machine smart board phone computerPhysical Demands (if applicable): Located in a comfortable indoor area.
