Overview
The Laboratory Genetic Counselor Student will provide assistance to the Clinical Genetics Laboratory Directors in case preparation and management. Under the supervision of Laboratory Directors this individual will utilize clinical and technical knowledge to prepare clinical cases for NGS sample analysis.

If you are selected for this position you will be asked to supply your immunization records as proof of vaccination. If you and have any concerns about receiving these vaccines medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources.
Responsibilities
- Utilize clinical/technical knowledge to prepare cases for sample analysis including summarizing relevant clinical information and applying appropriate HPO terms.
- Submit cases for sample analysis.
- Administrative Quality Assurance and Improvement activities such as database management.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree Health Sciences preferably Genetics and Currently attending a certified Genetic Counseling Masters program and 12 years experience preferred but not required. Individual must be a current masters student. Experience in clinical laboratory research or internship in healthcare and/or life sciences field preferred.

Starting Pay
Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay for this job is $22.50/hour.
Remote Work/Work from Home
This position is not eligible to work remotely which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Childrens Mercy locations and may not work from home.
