Key job responsibilities
As a Software Development Engineer II (SDE II) youll lead engineering design and development with a team of engineers and product partners. To succeed in this role you believe in high standards for code quality code reviews testing and operational excellence. You create mechanisms for achieving results and iterating improvements and can lead projects end to end while working with and through other engineers to deliver results with the autonomy to build the right solution from Day One. Are you up to the task of overseeing the management and tracking of billions of packages for Amazon customers around the world Then join the Customer Shipment Tracking and Control (CSTRAC) team; we are instrumental in developing many Amazons retail features.
We manage the entire package tracking systemthe website customers use and the underlying technologygiving customers reliable answers to their Wheres my stuff questions. To help our many internal clients we have made delivery tracking readily accessible across Amazons flagship sites and products.
Our technical vision includes providing an advanced modular service architecture that allows us to deliver accurate package tracking information. We are not just about tracking; we empower customers to control where and when they receive their package even as it is in transit.
Our challenge is to bring our services together into a cohesive and easytouse platform so that client teams within Amazon can selfserve their needs while we maintain a repeatable process at scale. 3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
