Job Description
Job Title: Elementary Interventionist Wage/Hour Status: Exempt
Reports to: Campus Principal Pay Grade: Teacher Salary Schedule (187 days)
Dept./School: As assigned Date Revised: 08/18
Primary Purpose:
To provide strategies for teaching and supporting students in core subjectarea skills needed
to ensure students are achieving at a proficient level.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Masters degree
Valid Texas elementary teaching certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of Prek 5th grade TEKS
Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to work in small groups with elementary students
Ability to work with teachers
Knowledge of appropriate use of assessment and intervention strategies for students
Strong organizational communication human relations and interpersonal skills
Experience:
Threefive years teaching
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Strategies
- Assists individual and small groups of students in core academic areas.
- Collaborate and coach teachers to identify the academic needs of students to set learning goals and targets.
- Knowledge of best practices and effective instructional strategies to enhance student growth.
- Participates in department planning and activities.
- Supports the district professional development plan.
- Facilitates campus and department professional development sessions.
- Assists campuses in the disaggregation and interpretation of data.
Student Growth and Development
- Supports the utilization of appropriate social skills development throughout the curriculum.
Classroom Management and Organization
- Models appropriate classroom management techniques in all presentations.
- Remains knowledgeable of current best practices for classroom management.
Communication
- Adheres to professional ethical standards in relationships with students teachers parents community members peers and support staff.
Professional Growth and Development
- Attends appropriate conferences and professional development for selfimprovement.
- Utilizes information and insights gained in professional development activities.
- Reads maintains and utilizes current education and research literature.
Miscellaneous:
- Exhibits punctuality and dependability in carrying out assignments.
- Exhibits flexibility in the performance of assigned duties.
- Dresses and grooms appropriately.
- Performs other tasks and functions as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Academic Services.

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written); maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing stooping bending pulling and pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks media equipment desks and other classroom equipment.
