Citra is a Swiss company at the forefront of innovative building technology. Our proprietary construction methods enable rapid highly resistant and durable building solutions. We are committed to supporting Ukraine in its reconstruction efforts with an initial focus on residential housing. Citra plans to deploy a mobile factory in Ukraine aiming to produce 1500 housing units annually. Citra has applied for a reconstruction grant from the Swiss Government. Should the funding be approved Citra will need to rapidly build a world class team in Ukraine. Since the operations would then be backed by international funding strict adherence to international reporting standards and full compliance with all relevant regulations would be required. The Citra Ukraine team will be an integral part of our international organization working in close collaboration with our experienced South African team of architects engineers and project managers who will oversee significant aspects of planning and project management.
Role Summary
Citra Ukraine is seeking an experienced and highly capable Financial Manager to establish and lead all financial operations for our entity in Ukraine. This role is responsible for ensuring financial integrity compliance with local and international standards robust financial planning and accurate reporting. The Financial Manager will be a key member of the local leadership team providing critical financial insights and controls to support the successful deployment of Citras projects and the achievement of our mission in Ukraine.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Planning:
Develop and implement financial strategies policies and procedures for CitraUkraine aligned with Group standards and local requirements.
Lead the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.
Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decisionmaking by the Country Manager and Group management.
Financial Accounting & Reporting:
Oversee all accounting operations including General Ledger Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable Fixed Assets and Payroll.
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with Ukrainian Accounting Standards(UAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Manage the quarterly and yearend closing processes.
Prepare and submit all statutory financial reports and tax filings to Ukrainian authorities.
Coordinate and manage internal and external audits.
Treasury & Cash Flow Management:
Manage banking relationships and oversee treasury functions.
Monitor and manage cash flow ensuring sufficient liquidity for operations.
Implement effective foreign exchange management strategies.
Compliance & Internal Controls:
Ensure full compliance with all Ukrainian financial tax and corporate laws and regulations.
Ensure adherence to the stringent reporting and compliance requirements of international funding partners.
Develop implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
Stay updated on changes in local legislation and international reporting standards.
Cost Management & Analysis:
Work closely with the Commercial Manager and Head of Construction and Production to monitor project costs analyze variances and identify areas for cost optimization.
Provide financial input for project tendering and pricing.
Team Leadership & Development (as the team grows):
Build and lead a small finance team as operations scale.
Provide coaching mentorship and professional development opportunities for finance staff.
Stakeholder Management:
Liaise effectively with local tax authorities banks auditors and other financial institutions.
Collaborate closely with Citra Group finance teams in Switzerland and South Africa to ensure seamless integration and reporting.
Reporting to: Ukraine Country Manager
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education: Masters degree in Finance Accounting Economics or a related field.
Professional Qualification: Internationally recognized professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA CPA) or a strong local Ukrainian equivalent (e.g. Certified Auditor).
Experience:
A minimum of 710 years of experience in finance and accounting with at least 35 years in a finance management role preferably within an international company operating in Ukraine.
Proven experience in setting up financial systems and controls for a new entity or project is highly desirable.
Strong experience with Ukrainian Accounting Standards (UAS) tax legislation and statutory reporting requirements.
Solid understanding and practical application of IFRS.
Skills:
Indepth knowledge of financial planning budgeting forecasting and reporting.
Strong analytical problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.
Proficiency in financial accounting software (Xero) and advanced MS Excel or Google Sheet skills.
Excellent leadership and team management capabilities.
Language Proficiency: Fluent in both Ukrainian and English (written and spoken) is essential.
German proficiency is an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the construction manufacturing or real estate development sectors.
Experience with projects funded by international financial institutions (e.g. EIB EBRD World Bank) and familiarity with their specific financial reporting and compliance requirements.
Big 4 audit firm experience would be an advantage.
Experience in managing financial aspects of international trade and customs
Ukrainians living in Switzerland with a Status S permit will be given preference.
